Arts & Culture

Galleries & Studios
A thriving arts community supports two public galleries (Tom Thomson in Owen Sound and the Durham Art Gallery in Southern Grey) along with private studios and galleries across Grey County. You can find exhibitions, work and events of all kinds to suit your taste, budget and timelines.

Living History
Every summer, the Grey Roots Museum and Archives opens the Moreston Heritage Village, a place where dozens of knowledgeable interpreters walk you through daily life in Grey County from the time of the first people to the 1930’s. Visit a log home, a farmstead, country church, blacksmith shop and see steam engines at work.

Museums
Grey County is rich with history, and local stories are told in museums across the county. We celebrate our rural and marine heritage, our local heroes and more. Grey County Museum and Archives boasts a permanent collection, a theatre, a heritage village, several travelling exhibits and lots of activities year-round.

Theatre
Live theatre, music and other shows make their home in beautiful halls around the county: Owen Sound’s Roxy Theatre, Meaford Hall and the Hanover Civic Theatre are three lovingly restored historic stages in Grey. Love film? We still have two active drive-ins!
